Professionals

The St. Paul’s mental health team really is a team. To provide our patients the best care, we depend on each other’s compassion, expertise and strength on a daily basis.

The Mental Health Program consists of fearless, resourceful, agile health care professionals from a variety of disciplines.

Together, we provide the very best of care for our patients and families.

260 staff

St. Paul's Hospital has 260 staff and psychiatrists dedicated to helping people with mental illnesses.

To provide our patients the best care, we depend on the compassion, expertise and strength of one another. We come to work knowing that our patients need us and that our colleagues support us and this allows us to strive daily to be the best health care providers — and people — that we can be.

The strong linkages with the University of British Columbia and other academic institutions reinforce the clinical expertise and enriched learning environment within our program.

We work in very close partnership with health practitioners across the Lower Mainland of Vancouver through referrals, consultations and information sharing. We also work very closely with our academic colleagues and through the engagement of students and trainees.

The idea is to have a seamless roadmap in place that anticipates the needs of these patients, so that when they do come into a hospital it’s not as daunting as it could be.
